I lost a dear, dear friend on December 23rd.  I was so looking forward to spending Christmas with him, he was one of my dearest friends ever.  I had known him for almost 9 years and he introduced me to many fun and influential folks in Belgians.  His family history was a healthy one, but sadly, he couldn't escape dreaded cancer, hemangioscarcoma of his heart.

Trooper was the kindest, gentlest soul.  He loved everyone.  I laughingly called him "traitor" instead of Trooper, because he would have gladly walked away with anyone... happy to make the aquaintance of a new friend!
I often said he was born a Christmas present to me....how odd that his whole life he continued to  give and give to me and my family.  My children cherished him and each would would exclaim loudly, "He's MY dog".  Of course, in the end, to settle the dispute of FIVE children, I'd have to announce that he was Mommy's dog....but they'd each tell their friends he was "their" dog.....to say he was adored was an understatement!
He was a very special Belgian man, my first import, my first Groenendael, my first Belgian Champion.

When his heart stopped a part of mine did too.

Ginnie

I have tried to find the right words ... but special he was and I didn't find the special words.

So I thought that Ginnie's words would be  just the best ones to say how adored he was and how missed he will be.

One O One was a wonderful embassador for BdT and we are very proud of him.

As a breeder, I would like to only produce some of "this kind" to represent our colors in but also out of the show ring.

But more than anything else,  he was the 1rst "bridge across the big water".

Hope that Magic, Bridges, Twist and the other ones will help Ginnie, Dan and their family to fill the emptiness.
